The 24-year old Aussie all-rounder Mitchell Marsh is supposedly accepting tips on the best way to play spin bowling from RPSG fellow team member Ravichandran Ashwin.
In the Indian Premier League season, 9 the spinners took more wickets than fasters and this wet outfield of Indian grounds helped most to the spinners and Mitchell Marsh faced problem to play against spin he reportedly says in his recent interview.He also says that he’s taking assistance from Both the Ashwin’s to play against the spin bowlers.
The duo of his teammates in Rising Pune Supergiants helping him to play against spin, He is working on playing against spin bowlers with Ashwin’s assistance. The tips of play against spin also help this Aussie all-rounder for his next tour to Sri Lanka after the Indian Premier League.
The Australian player Mitchell Marsh stated, “I’ve spoken a lot to him at training which is really good. We play India a lot, so the more I can face him, the more I can watch the ball coming out of his hand and hopefully be able to combat that when we play India.”
Mitchell Marsh has added in his comment that it is important to understand how spinners bowl and where the bowl actually turns, he taking tips from both Ravichandran and Murugan Ashwin to understand the mind of spinners.
Mitchell Marsh stated, “For me it’s just trying to understand where he bowls it and why he bowls there. Not only to combat just his bowling but every other spinner out there and understanding what other spinners are trying to do when the ball is turning and the wickets are a little bit slower, which is something we’re not used to.”
“I feel like I’ve got the power game to be able to hit boundaries but the best players in the world get off strike almost every ball, certainly in Twenty20 cricket. That’s what I’m working on and keep learning off guys like both Ashwin’s.”
