Team India Historic Series win in Australia - Retained Border-Gavaskar Trophy

India won the series by 2-1 as the final day of fourth test in Sydney Play was eventually abandoned, without a ball being bowled, at 2:30pm and it leads to drawn the match and India created a historic moment for every Indian cricket fans by retaining Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The Skipper Virat Kohli leads the team to No.1 Position on the MRF Tyres ICC Test Team Rankings and retained the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. It was historic moment for team India and First ever Test series win in Australia.

The team India have intention too take the series lead by 3-1 on final day of test on Monday 7 January, of the Sydney Test. The visitors required to take 10 wickets of the host team Australia to make it happen on final day, but due to bad whether conditions play for the final day was abandoned without a ball being bowled. The rain helped team Australia to lead the match to drawn.

Team India has secured the side by winning the first and third tests in Adelaide and Melbourne, the skipper Virat Kohli was confident for his teams performance on Sydney test too, after winning the toss in fourth test India opted to bat first.

The opening pair didn’t worked well for team India but then Cheteshwar Pujara came to bat a Saurashtra’s domestic star player knock of 193 runs and The young wicket-keeper batsmen Rishabh Pant’s 159* runs knock put India on mammoth total of 622-7 before the declaration of Innings. On other side the Indian bowlers was performing well on ground, Kuldeep Yadav stops Australia on 300 total by taking 5 wickets, while Mohammed Shami and Ravindra Jadeja took 2 wickets each and Jasprit Bumrah took another one. It was first fifer of Kuldeep Yadav in Australia.

Looking on the another victory for team India, Captain Virat Kohli had enforced the follow-on on the fourth day, but due to bad whether players were taken off just for 4 overs in Second innings of Australia. the fourth day play leads to an end with the bad whether condition.

The rain had continued to stop play on day fifth even, it was not a heavy rain either but not a good condition to resume the play. the play was abandoned with rain and leads to drawn without even ball being bowled.

Cheteshwar Pujara grabs the both achievement at the series end player of the match for his 193 runs knock and player of the series for his 3 centuries and the table topper of highest run scorer for series.
